Just a dog lovin' guy living a simple life and helping dogs. I've dedicated over 30 years to helping dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes and behaviours. My mission is simple; to be a voice for the underdogs and ensure every dog knows the love, safety and joys of being part of a caring family. You can read more about my journey here or continue scrolling the page to meet all the furballs I currently share my life with...
The beautiful faces below are all currently calling LDR home. As both a rescue and sanctuary, some are eagerly awaiting their forever homes, ready to share their love with new families. Others, due to age, health, or behavioral challenges, have found their permanent place here, embraced as "lifers" in my devoted rescue family. Never again will they be homeless, unloved or at risk of being needlessly euthanized just for being a dog.

Training can be a fun and rewarding way to build a positive, healthy relationship with your pet. Whether you're starting with a young pup or enhancing your adult dog's skills, selecting the appropriate trainer greatly influences your success.
As a firm believer in the benefits of reward-based, non-aversive methods of training I support trainers who focus on positive reinforcement & motivation to encourage desired behaviours without the use of outdated training tools like choke, prong or e-collars (shock collar).
My policy has consistently been one of full transparency when it comes to the rescue, a principle I believe all rescue organizations should embrace. This commitment entails making publicly available the name(s) of all individuals involved in rescue operations, the primary location where animals are housed, maintaining an open-door policy for authorities to address any concerns or grievances, and reassuring the public that all animals are being cared for with kindness and compassion. I’m happy to address questions about the rescue and am always available -within reason- to anyone seeking information.
